Bosherton camping

 Decided to move from Camp to Elmer’s Bosherton campsite . 

Good move . £6 a night . 

Visited lily ponds which were quite impressive and then followed foot path to Broad Haven beaches. Stockpole stack. Then we went to see St Govans chapel which was in Dark Materials series 3 episode 1 

Pasta and tuna for dinner

 This would be a good day spent with people I met at Newark Focus . Celebration of Darrell’s birthday. A big one .  Early pickup by Joyce Sefora and Stella and we met Darrell in Rochester Marina . Laura joined us later driving down later .  The marina was just down the road from Phil’s house .  Darrell had worked out a plan for the day based on tidal forecast so it was a visit to Chatham , a bit of folk music and a tour of the docked boats .  We journeyed out on Darrell’s boat out to the Medway for an hour and hour return .  Birthday cake on deck and below deck before journeying home .

Parkrun at Brockwell

It was a good day out but I left it a bit late and it was a mad cycle from Clapham Junction to Brockwell and got there with 5 minutes to spare .  My hands and feet were frozen and my heart was beating so fast and felt so giddy . So walked after 1 Km . I know that's not good for me as once I stopped it's difficult to get going again .  Brockwell Lido has an outdoor pool which is not heated . Brrrr . Great views of Battersea , Vauxhall , Shard and London skyline .  So I cycled back via Brixton and Lambeth borough . What a colourful area ? The market was full of Carribean  veg so bought a couple of yams .  Also loved the London buses and place names Lambeth Brixton Elephant and Castle . Full of life and colour . What a great place London is .

Airbnb - from Beijing

Airbnb - from Beijing   Just reflecting on a beautiful experience of hosting my Airbnb guest from Beijing for 30 days. It could have turned out to be a nightmare as Stella was a bit lost on arrival as it was her first visit to Uk , actually her only other visit outside China was two weeks in Thailand and had been in covid lockdown for 3 years on her university campus. Also Stella could not cook but had brought her rice steam cooker with her. But it turned into an opportunity to help someone in need. I offered a bike for her to get to work which was about 2.5 miles away or she could have walked. But we worked out how to use the local buses 411, 261 West Molesey to Teddington , using contactless cards and it takes Oyster. Actually I learnt a lot about public transport routes and costs. So, I decided that the only way that her stay was going to work was that I cooked an evening meal for her.
