> Each April a pair of Canadian geese arrive and make home at the lake. They have been granted an unlimited visit visa . They raise a family of 8 chicks and strut their prideful shelves for the next two months . Then the ones that have survived the foxes' jaws depart only to return the following year. No, it's very strange that only a pair returns . The fox has not been granted an entry visa but visits anyway.
>
> Other visitors are a pair of herons . They like perching on the branches of the tall dead tree. A beautiful sight as the tree is bare of leaves leaving a nice silhouette against the purple heather of the mountain side. The herons will keep an eye on you as you enjoy 54. The red kite, jackdaw , owl and buzzard circle the woodland and lovely if you catch it doing a beautiful swoop into the field. Permission to occupy the airspace has been granted.
>
> The occasional cat provides a pleasant company , the black one , the three coloured ones they say are good mice hunters. Then they disappear. I doubt that they are stray as they are quite comfortable with closeness to your presence. Again unlimited visiting visa has been granted.
>
> The nearby stream leads to a short waterfall . An ideal spot to watch the odd salmon wriggle its way upstream. Keeping it company on its travels upstream you can find trout seeking shelter underneath the stones.
>
> Sadly sheep have not visited for a while. I guess that is a testimony that the nearby farm Glyndreinog seems to be a country home rather than a place of rearing livestock. The other farm Tycoch is a listed building and its fields tend to have horses rather than marauding sheep .
>
> And finally the fox hunts used to come up the access road up through the woodland through Glyndreinog Farm and out towards the mountain have dried up . The notice was a bugler and pack of barking dogs . No permission granted but would you argue with that lot coming towards you . To see a foxhunt , boxing day in Llandeilo is a good day out , mulled wine and minced pie and banter at the local pubs.
