New Years Eve Park run bushy

Image
It's a wet start and dark but arranged to meet Rod front row by the speakers . There I bumped into Clive Kitson from my upholstery class .  Felt like stopping a few times but Teo things . One that the WWF crowd were there Mark Blythe on the bike leading the run , Kevin and Jayne and Dennis.  Also there was a leader who stopped and started from about 3km . I couldn't do that . Once I stop I can't get going again .  Good talking to Dennis, as he used to run 5k on 15;05 . Amazingly fast .  My time today 32:09 , first time faster than Rod who came in at 32:25 .  A good start to the day .

Car Rental (parkhurst.biz) TO get the DVLA code you need this link View or share your driving licence information - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) And finally train links from Hersham , Esher or Hampton Court  Trainline : Search, Compare & Buy Cheap Train Tickets (thetrainline.com)

Visitors Geese

Image
See videos at the end Access rights to 54 Folland Road  > Each April a pair of Canadian geese arrive and make home at the lake. They have been granted an unlimited visit visa . They raise a family of 8 chicks and strut their prideful shelves for the next two months . Then the ones that have survived the foxes' jaws depart only to return the following year. No, it's very strange that only a pair returns . The fox has not been granted an entry  visa but visits anyway.  >  > Other visitors are a pair of herons . They like perching on the branches of the tall dead tree. A beautiful sight as the tree is bare of leaves leaving a nice silhouette against the purple heather of the mountain side.  The herons will keep an eye on you as you enjoy 54. The red kite, jackdaw , owl and buzzard circle the woodland and lovely if you catch it doing a beautiful swoop into the field. Permission to occupy the airspace has been granted. >  > The occasional cat prov...

Coughs and Carols and Spanish

Image
It’s been 5 and 7th day of wheezy chest and coughing . So after walking the park run it was a day at home watching the football . Quarter final ties were  Morroco 1 v Portugal 0 England 1 v France 2  This was a good opportunity to catch up with the pile of ironing . Zoom call with Heidi.  Also I’m reminded to get some Epsom Salts as I still suffer from cramps and sore lower back .  Sunday morning brought snow but it was fine to wrap up and cycle to church . Was a bit wheezy in the morning and told Dawn that I’d decide after church about going to the Goat Shepperton. I was okay so it’s always good to go out .  In the evening . What a great Carols service . The choir was great , the lyrics were written on the screens, I like the way that they had mixed short bible readings to match the carols from Genesis though to Herod and the three magi leaving via different route .  Also the morning service by Tim Blair was great examining Evolution v Christianity F...
