Day 2 -4 Road trip with H to Broad Haven

Carmarthen, Llansteffan , B-road haven 

 We travelled to Broad Haven in one journey . Apart from a stop in Carmarthen for lunch and for some presents in the Welsh shop . 

Rented a small van (VW caddy) so that we could trial its use for future travelling. It worked well, comfortable,  and not too big for country roads. two bikes fitted in well in addition to the cooking gear.

We also visited Llansteffan and watched the mussel boats coming in . 

We spent 3 days in the YHA in Broad Haven , 100 yards from the beach . 

First night we walked down to beach and talked to night fisherman from Neath area . He has a second home here and wife visits at the weekend. But speaks to her every evening . 

Breakfast wasn’t great at the hostel wasn’t great so just had the one night . 

Another night we cooked pasta tuna pesto while chatting to South Africans who had cycled from Oslo . They considered Wales hilly !!! Great chatting with them . 

Also met two Australian in a motor home in Pembroke.. he was happy after 7 weeks but she had had enough with the constant stress of finding a place to park . 

We got the kettle out and chairs in the car park to enjoy a cuppa . People stopped to chat . 

First day we travelled we car to New Quay , Solva and St David’s Cathedral .
