Two magpies on two wheels (2025)

 A slow start after a poached eggs on toast at Airbnb . Prepared the bikes and we cycled first up towards the golf club . Had it in the neck from H as it was an immediate hill .  Cycled along riverside path to 48 . The place looked okay , the iron needs cleaning away and work has commenced at 54. That’s good to see . A strange view on Google maps as it showed load of cars along the road . Had to install Google earth to find out the date. It was April 23td the day of mam’s funeral . !!  It was really nice just to be at 54 , well after all it is home .  Cycled on riverside path to Pantyffynon calling in for coffee at Coaltown and met Wyn Hogarth and his wife Wendy just on path beyond Tesco Ammanford. Funny that we could chat without seeing each other for over 40 years .  The train was due in half an hour at Pantyffynon so locked up the bikes and took train to Llandovery for an hour catching the return at 1650. Didn’t pay on the train as I assume he thought we live...

 Heidi and I arrived in Garnant Airbnb on Sunday night . It was great for single or a couple in Garnant so suited us to the ground.  Met kevin and Elmer at the bowls pavilion at 1100. Met Melvina there too for quick chat and update of Folland Road.  We plotted our hike , up to the Twyn, through the path of the gnomes, up riverside walk , into the woodland , out by llandeilo road , through the fields to the creigau, past the crazy farm , down and over the iron bridge , up through the ferns , find a way down to Coral dad’s place , down to the ford , follow the afon to high field road and back to the van .  Great day catching up with good mates .  Heidi is amazed at the sights and sounds of the Amman Valley . She seems to think there is a constant noise of rivers everywhere. 

 Tenby , st Catherine’s castle tour  I’m really glad we stopped here .  Met a local and had a discusión about post boxes . Victorian .  A great Sunday lunch in the Royal Oak
